Pam
George, Director of Christian Education

Pam is a life-long member of First Church and has
served on the church staff since 1989. Prior to 1989 she
was employed by the Newark District office of The United
Methodist Church. Pam has been a certified lab leader in
The United Methodist Church with certifications in the
areas of Junior High, Senior high, Adult, and Older Adult
Ministries. She has been asked to lead lab schools and
workshops throughout Ohio and in Michigan and Indiana. She
has served as District Children's Coordinator, District
Youth Coordinator, and has chaired the West Ohio
Conference Leadership Development Committee.
Pam is married and has two daughters. Her favorite
pastimes are reading, walking, swimming, and traveling.
Peg Parker,
Caring Ministries Coordinator & Assistant
Christian Education Director

Peg joined the church staff in 1984 as Director of
Children's Ministries. She has a B.S. in Home Economics
from Ohio State University. She taught home economics
for 5 years before retiring to raise her family. She
taught Sunday School in several churches in the
communities where they lived during her husband's
training. She loves kids and has really enjoyed working
with the families at First Church. In January 2000 the
position of Coordinator of Caring Ministries was created
and Peg moved to that position. This ministry includes
the Attendance Ministry, Family Concerns Ministry,
Fellowship Hour Ministry, the Caring Visitors. She is
also the staff resource person for the First Community
Kitchen.
Peg lives on a small farm with her husband, Jim. She
has two adult sons, Jon and Andrew. She loves to spend
time with her grandchildren, cook, garden, do needlework
and travel.
John Coen,
Director of Creative Ministries &
Crossroads Facility

John is a graduate of Ohio University where he studied
video production and film. His internship with Stan
Winston enabled him to work on special effects for
Edward Scissorhands and Predator II. Following a short
stint as a videographer and film transfer technician,
John took on the job of Youth Director at First Church.
Since joining the staff in 1992 he has developed the
Virtuous Reality puppet ministry and has become the
Director of Creative Outreach Ministries, working with clowns, puppets, drama,
video production, visual arts, and marketing. He has
taught workshops on puppetry and clowning at national
and international conferences.
