Hello and welcome to the section of the web devoted to the youth and their activities at Lancaster First United Methodist Church. Here you will be able to see what we have done, what we plan to do, and updates on events taking place even as you read.
FUMC has a number of youth ministry programs for
13 through 18 year olds. Here’s how youth can get involved:
First Sundays @ Crossroads
Every first Sunday the youth gather at
Crossroads (2095 W. Fair Ave.)
from 6 to 7:45 p.m. for a fun time of recreation and activities. Click
here to find out what’s coming up in the months ahead.
Youth Small Groups
Every Sunday (except for the first Sundays of each month)
youth gather in peoples’ homes for small group gatherings from 6 to 7:30
p.m. This is a time of sharing, support, laughter, encouragement, and faith
growth. Each small group is led by two adults, and each group meets with an
commitment of confidentiality. Contact
Sam Halverson if you would like to get involved in a small group.
Confirmation Class
This class is for 7th graders in order to help them make a decision about
their faith choice. It meets every Sunday morning during the school year
from 11:00 to 12:00 p.m. Youth Sunday School Class
8th-10th graders meet in the Rising House
- Room 21 - every Sunday morning at 11:00 a.m. during the school year.
11th & 12th graders meet in the Rising House Library (first floor) every
Sunday morning at 11:00 a.m. during the school year. Thursday Breakfast
During the school year, the youth are fed a great breakfast (hot and cold on alternate weeks),
every Thursday morning in the Rising House, given a short devotion, and driven to school on time - all for $1. Breakfast begins at 6:30 a.m.
Retreats
Every so often we take retreats ranging from one night to a week long.
Youth Summer Mission Trips Every summer the
youth take mission trips to various places. Find out more on the Youth
Mission Trips page along with pictures from past trips.
All this is in the area of youth ministry. There are many youth who get involved at FUMC through
First Community Kitchen, Sunday morning worship and teaching Sunday school and Vacation Bible School. Come get involved! |
